NSAM + Ricochet Collaboration

BUILD TWO MEMORIALS AT THE SAME TIME!

Donations are being taken by NSAM to have NSAM sculptor Susan Bahary create a life-size bronze of the late famous therapy surf dog Ricochet on her surfboard for the San Diego County area.  This piece will honor Ricochet and all service animals, as well as Ricochet’s owner and trainer, the late Judy Fridono.

All funds will go to NSAM strictly for the building of our Memorial and a full tax donation will be given. Our sculptor, Susan Bahary, is offering her artistic services at no cost, other than for the mold and casting costs. Therefore, you will be helping to build the Ricochet memorial at the same time your donations will help build the National Service Animals Memorial in the nation’s Capital!

We must raise $145,000, which is the value of the original Bahary Ricochet bronze sculpture. If all funds are not raised by November 21, 2025, then the funds received will still go to the construction of the National Service Animals Memorial and while Ricochet’s bronze may not be created, a special mention of her and those who donated toward her memorial will be listed on our webpage. A special mention will also be placed on the on-site interactive phone App at our Memorial site in the Washington D.C. area acknowledging her incredible deeds as a therapy surf dog and the generous public that wanted to honor her.

Updates will be posted here incrementally starting with the first 20% raised.
