RICOCHET-RIDING WAVES OF PURPOSE!
Prior to Surf Dog Ricochet, there weren’t any dogs committed to adaptive surfing, surf therapy, or ocean therapy. Therefore, she became the Canine Ambassador for Surfers with Disabilities. What made her extraordinary was her powerful ability to make immediate, deep, heart-to-heart connections with the individuals she interacts with. She intuitively and empathically alerted to their emotional and physical changes which allows for profound healing interventions. Ricochet had an exceptional ability to read a person in a matter of seconds and provide for their needs resulting in life-altering positive transformations. She taught and surfed with hundreds of individuals, leading to her role as the only SURFice dog in the world who provided canine-assisted therapy and other activities to empower, enhance, and improve the quality of life for individuals with physical, cognitive, or emotional disabilities. She worked primarily with veterans with PTSD and children with mental and physical disabilities.

Ricochet’s book was an international Bestseller, and she was one of 5 dogs featured in the IMAX movie Superpower Dogs. Ricochet was the winner of several national awards and countless others and continues to be after her passing. These include the Hero Dog Award from American Humane, Dog of the Year from the ASPCA, USA Today Dog Hero, and most recently, the NSAM Purple Poppy Animal of the Year Award. She won countless surfing dog competitions.
Let’s give back to Ricochet and Judy and honor them and those like them with these Memorials to service animals and their handlers!
